The Role

Due to sustained growth over several years, and the development of our market-leading brand of high-performance earth wearing parts, Maxipart, we are looking for hungry and highly motivated Area Managers to take forward regions in Lincolnshire & Yorkshire, and separately Norfolk & Suffolk. We are looking for candidates to be based in or very close to their region.

The successful candidate would ultimately be responsible to maintain and build on the business that is already in the region, but then exploiting the large untapped growth opportunities there are, achieving 3–5-year growth targets in line with the company’s ambitious growth plans.

Responsibilities & Requirements

The successful candidate would have the following primary attributes;

  • The ability to persevere in a non-pushy way – farmers are notoriously resistant to change but will do with the right approach and with the correct level of persistence over a period of time.
  • The ability to build solid relationships & trust, which can be leveraged to your advantage – farmers mainly are traditional in how they like to do business and have an aversion to smash & grab salespeople.
  • An eye for detail – the small things matter to our customers, small dropped balls can be very damaging if not dealt with properly.
  • The ability to manage and grow a large number of accounts.

This role will involve you spending time face to face with customers, building up relationships, opening new accounts and prospecting, as well as then spending time in your remote office making phone-based contact with your customers to keep the relationship live, creating opportunities and chasing down leads to completion. In an Area Management role, you will be in control of key decisions to look after and grow the sales in the area.

Agricultural experience/knowledge is helpful, but not critical. The main point is that the successful candidate is willing to listen and learn and knuckle down to carrying out the basics on a daily basis.
